Good morning,
I live in Barcelona for 2 years and I rent punctually my sofa bed to visitors (loners or in couple). The flat is small but has a nice terrace and a swimming pool. I am often therefore away it is possible that they live together some days or that I am away. There is a line of bus owing the door of the building which passes by all centre up to the beach. In side there is a big park (Guinard ó), less known that the Park Guëll but which has a sublime view has 360 from very Barcelona. Here it isn't a hotel 4 stars or a nice inn on Ramblas but it is well if you search a less tourist and convivial alternative. I can guide you in Barcelona, I am editor and publish a guide of restaurants and of activity of the city...
